Dr. Dilara Sayeed’s story winds from Head Start to Harvard, and through public schools and institutions. These experiences fuel her focus on equity, education, and positive outcomes for all residents, especially in vulnerable communities. Over the last 20 years, Dilara served as an award-winning teacher, an entrepreneur, an executive, and a candidate for public office. Dilara believes success in life requires access to education, resources, and great mentors that help us get there. She is founder of vPeer.com, an online peer mentoring platform that helps networks across the globe help their members Match-Meet-Mentor to Make Greater Impact. Women, American Muslims, and other demographics are underrepresented or often invisible in civic leadership. Dilara ran for IL State Legislature in 2018 and came in second of four candidates in an historic race. She continues to use her talents and network to serve in civic and social efforts on the City of Chicago Complete Count Committee, IL State Comptroller’s Advisor.
